(6th SDEEP Devlog) Have ideas? Made a Discord to discuss ideas and the future of the game.

Hello!

Did a ton of boring work this week so I'll spare you there. I also did a couple of non-game things this week as well:

1. Discord:

Originally this project was only supposed to take a month and be around the same size as Curse of Dares. However, all of your ideas and support showed me this game should be so much more.

I still plan on releasing it close to my original intended release date (within a few devlogs from now), but this version will be far from what I want it to end up as. So expect it to be much shorter than intended on early access release for the time being.

Made a discord for anyone who wanted to throw out some ideas, reinforce some existing ideas, or expand upon previous ideas.

https://discord.gg/wwznKjvavK

I made a poll on the discord to see what type of content you would want to see next in SDEEP.

2. Steam release on the horizon

Both CDares and SDEEP are being approved on steam at the moment. Early access will be available over there as well for anyone who prefers that storefront. The steam pages will be linked in the next devlog once they're public.

Now for this devlog:

I want to throw out a few things I didn't get to on the last devlog (6/6):

Homesteads (H): Designated by their small, packed structures. This includes any buildings for living such as homes, hotels, and rest stops. A simple and safe area to stock up on low quality treasure, safe food, and sometimes equipment. These areas are often a good place to stock up on cash when low. They often don't require as much equipment as facilities and still provide enough food to prevent your salvor from having to burn her munch budget.

Whirl Pool (W): Known by their randomized nature. These are rare randomly occurring levels that are only scanned for after every mission, they have a knack for disappearing at random as well. These fresh wrecks are in the process of floating to the surface from depths of 130k+. Before the slum towns catch and take them apart many salvors bring their pods to these moving wrecks to grab any fresh loot. These wrecks have the highest quality treasure but also many salvors willing to "help" yours.

Caves of Ambition (A): No grand loot, bountiful supplies, or special knowledge can be found. Thus this depth was named after the only reason humans would ever travel here. If inanimate structures could hate, they would reshape themselves to mimic these caves. Found around depth 100k+. Deep pools connecting pathways of settled dust. Particularly rare occurrences of high value treasure can be found here.

One other thing I can show are a couple of items she runs into. Your salvor doesn't know you can see her, so she's likely to get adventurous with certain things she finds.

These are a few simple mushrooms you've seen before.

And these are the mushrooms she tells you not to worry about. At first she ignores them because they are too hard to bite into. But under certain conditions she decides they can be useful for something. Just be careful about where you introduce these mushrooms to her. Her light source is almost nothing so she relies mostly on you to make sure there are no other salvors that may see her.

Now I'm sure you can tell these are not mushrooms, but in the dark of these caves she can't. It's up to you to decide whether or not she should try to shove these in her mouth. Just keep in mind she may react differently based on her current state of mind. You will be able to see all H-Scenes  that are available in each level in a checklist, so if you're missing one, it's time to experiment!

That's all I have for the moment. Now that CDares and SDEEP are waiting to be approved on steam I can focus a bit more on content.  I want to give more concrete information about the setting and certain mechanics to provide a framework for your suggestions so I may be writing all of that stuff out a bit better in the future devlog.

I really like the checklist,  knowing I'm not missing  content through a mechanic is something I really appreciate having in a game. And  a direction to a goal that in of itself is a reward is just awesome.

The work thus far has been amazing, I really look forward to the continued updates (seeing a game come together devlog by devlog is really something special) and finished product!

Thank you! Glad you like the devlogs because I got a couple more big things I want to drop. (And thanks for your suggestions on the discord!)
